We stayed at Grand Pacific Hotel for two nights during our Great Ocean Road trip. The upgraded room with ocean front view was worth the extra cost. The views from the balconies and dining area were fabulous, especially in the evening. The German guy at the front desk was friendly and helpful, and he made great cocktails. The buffet-style breakfast for $15 per person was excellent. We also had dinner at the hotel and it was first class. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to shops, cafes, and the pier. Cockatoos on the big front deck were a unique touch. Loved our stay!
Do recommend this hotel.

I loved the fact we only paid $65 and was upgraded. It was a Victorian style hotel with lots of history. It was located across from the ocean with a fantastic view from the room. You were able to hear the ocean from the room. Great deal! I wished we had booked more than one night here!

The friendly staff and the meals at the bistro were fantastic, well done.
We requested a room with a view of the ocean 2 months prior to our stay and we did not receive one. We received an acknowledgment of our booking but not one word was mentioned to us about the fact that our room was not one with a view. Our only windows looked out over a storage area which had lights on all night reflecting into our room. I think if you acknowledge a booking which has specifically asked for something you cannot supply you should let the person/s know in your acknowledgment.

We had a fantastic stay at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Lorne. The location was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the bay from our room. The building itself was beautiful, with charming porches and large windows that allowed us to fully enjoy the surroundings. The staff at the reception counter were friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We also had a wonderful dinner at the hotel's restaurant, with delicious food and excellent customer service from the waitress. Despite a few minor drawbacks, such as the small size of the room and the lack of certain amenities, our overall experience was very pleasant. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others looking for a picturesque and enjoyable stay along the Great Ocean Road.

We arrived in a powercut & it is a sign of a well run hotel & excellant staff when they can cope so well. Pitch black outside they had night light candles ready & showed us to a room ( staff physically check the room first to make sure it was ready) We were offered extra blankets as it was a cold windy night. The kitchen is partly gas powered so the chef was able to offer hot food, very welcome & excellant. Power was back on before bedtime thankfully. Oh and it had a bathtub, devine.
